Therapy for adults

Hi, I'm Dr. Mara Pease.

I’m a clinical psychologist who works with adults (18+) that are experiencing a variety of mental health challenges and life stressors. I specialize in counseling individuals with anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, eating and weight issues, parenting stress, caregiver burnout, and chronic and life-threatening medical conditions. I am also passionate about helping clients who are looking for ways to improve their communication, attachment style, and overall satisfaction in relationships.

My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and hopeless and give you tools to improve your current ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving.

My Journey to Becoming a Therapist

I’m no different from the clients I see. I've been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help. I believe that all human beings have the capacity to survive and thrive amidst mental and physical adversity. At the same time, I also deeply appreciate that the journey in doing so can take an incredible amount of struggle, humility and vulnerability. I welcome the unique viewpoints and cultural norms that each individual brings to the therapeutic environment and attempt to remain mindful of differences in thought, behavior, context, and expression of symptomology.

Helping People Energizes Me

Being a therapist is very fulfilling. I love guiding people towards positive changes, helping them become healthier, and watching them transform their lives.

The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is seeing my clients use the skills I teach. I am committed to empowering you to make big changes.

I Have Empathy For Others and Bring a Clarifying and Energizing Presence to Sessions

I have a natural ability to:

People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can sit with people at their worst and hear them when they are in that space.

Our Sessions are Focused on You

Sessions will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. In feeling safe and comfortable, you’ll be able to gain clarity and focus on yourself without feeling selfish.

It’s important to me to ensure that the process is collaborative and focuses on setting goals and working on reaching them together. There isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.
