Therapy for teens, adults, and couples
CBT-Trained Therapist
Hi, I'm Katie Troyak.
I’m a psychotherapist who works with teens, adults, and couples who have ongoing challenges with life stressors. I specialize in working with professional adults to achieve optimal engagement both personally and professionally. I provide a supportive space for individuals to learn and grow. My goal is to find your strengths and allow the space to explore areas of challenge with greater ease in an effort toward healthy balance and positive growth.
My Journey to Becoming a Therapist
I believe strongly in the interconnectedness of all human beings. The relationship between a therapist and client is one of equals. Just like all people, I have navigated both wonderful and challenging experiences. It is through those experiences, and years of training and connection with clients that have shaped who I am as a person and therapist. My life experiences and years of professional experience as a trained therapist assist me in determining the best way to support you.
Helping People Energizes Me
Being a therapist is an honor. I love guiding people towards positive changes and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives.
The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is providing encouragement during life’s challenges. I am committed to facilitating positive change.
I Have Empathy For Others and Bring a Clarifying and Energizing Presence to Sessions
- Collaborate with each client in an effort to set and achieve goals.
- Provide flexibility on the path toward discovery and skill acquisition.
- Help clients heal their past, manage the present, and build hope for the future.
People who know me often say that I am a good listener, provide a sense of calm during times of stress, and work toward actionable skills for regulation of emotions.
Our Sessions are Focused on You
Sessions will provide you with the space to express your thoughts and feelings. In feeling safe and comfortable, you’ll be able to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals.
It’s important to me to provide a non-judgemental space where you can be yourself. There isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.
As a Therapist,
I Embrace the Following Philosophies
- I believe that there is no shame in asking for help.
- I believe that change is possible when you allow yourself the space to do the work.
- I believe that people underestimate their ability to change. It's possible to change. It's possible to enjoy life again.
- I believe that the biggest thing standing in your way is the fear that life always has to be the way that it is now.
- I believe that even if we feel like we've lost hope, it's possible to show up, commit to ourselves, and do what it takes to start feeling better.
